After joining the Kayak Pro Staff at Fishing Tackle Unlimited I picked up the ATAK 140 by Wilderness Systems. I cannot say enough good things about this kayak. The ATAK paddles faster and tracks better than my Ride 135 (despite being wider). It handles the wind better thanks to the low profile gunnels, and it is packed full of features. The ATAK comes with a large enclosed bow hatch that becomes dry storage with a pair of scupper plugs. The flex pod gives the paddler the ability to install a fish finder/depth sounder in a fully contained and easily removed once piece unit. Then, the rod pod behind the rear tank-well allows you to store rods, stake out sticks and hawg troughs for a safe travel to the water. Plus, let’s not forget about the phase 3 seating that easily transitions from the low (paddling) position to the high (spotter) position with just the touch of 2 fingers. The ATAK also comes standard with the silent traction pads in the floor for the ultimate in marsh stealth. As a tournament angler I have many tools that I use to get the job done and there is no way I would be without my WS ATAK 140. I like this yak so much I just sold my 2016 model and picked up a new one!
